Project .me

Project .me, is a codename for an upcoming community gaming website I am working on, over the course of the coming months I will be detailing what work I have done on this. My overall aim, is to launch the website when the following functionality is in place:

  • A Games Database – Similar to AFG’s database, this one will be more relative and done slightly different from the off. The structure is key and as yet I have not finalised this.
  • News – This was something planned and even developed for AFG, but again the database structure made it difficult to fully implement as I wanted.
  • Lists – This will be the same as on AFG, but you will be able to make custom lists and orders.
  • Picture Gallery – Naturally a big part of the web is the pictures and graphics on it, in my opinion it is important that this key functionality is ready from the off. Again, this has been developed for AFG, but never made public because of issues with the database and in particular games which appear on different formats.
  • A Forum

These are the main core items I want to be available from launch, but there are more that I’m currently not wanting to discuss. Keep your eyes peeled as I may drop some clues and hints.

What have I done so far?

Well, it was important straight up to work on a proper structure for the website and that is in place.

The registration/login system is ready. Currently working on a User Control Panel to allow for customisation and changeable options.

An authorisation system is partially finished. Currently working on Admin and Moderation functions.

The website design is mostly done, I have the core layout and feel as I want it, some graphics (not many used, trying to use as much CSS3 as possible) need re-doing or changing and additional functionality, transitions and animations, need to be worked on.

Help Wanted

Over the years I have generated support for the websites I create and they have been on great help. But ultimately, I haven’t been able to generate any help on the markup/coding side of things. If you are interested in helping to develop, on either side then please contact me.

On the coding side of things, preferably some knowledge of HTML, Javascript and PHP would be of great help.
